Ο Γιώργος Τελτζίδης σπούδασε Κινηματογράφο και Ευρωπαϊκό Πολιτισμό.
Η τελευταία μικρού μήκους ταινία που έγραψε σε σκηνοθεσία Σταύρου Πετρόπουλου και παραγωγή ΕΚΚ, Γαλλίας, Νορβηγίας, Στέγης του Ιδρύματος Ωνάση, αναμένεται να κάνει πρεμιέρα τo 2025, στο φεστιβάλ του Clermont-Ferrand.
Η προηγούμενη μικρού μήκους ταινία που έγραψε , Στο θρόνο του Ξέρξη, σε σκηνοθεσία της Εύης Καλογεροπούλου και παραγωγή της Στέγης του Ιδρύματος Ωνάση, έκανε πρεμιέρα στην Εβδομάδα Κριτικής του Φεστιβάλ Καννών 2022, όπου και κέρδισε το βραβείο Canal+.
Oι ταινίες που έχει γράψει και σκηνοθετήσει έχουν διακριθεί και προβληθεί ανά τον κόσμο.(Cannes, AFI Fest (American Film Institute), Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs, Festival du nouveau cinéma, Encounters κ.α)
Έχει επιλεχθεί από τα Talent Campuses των Berlinale Film Festival , Sarajevo Film Festival, Oxbelly Writers Program, Zurich Film Festival Academy και είναι Fellow του Προγράμματος Υποστήριξης Καλλιτεχνών Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος.
Οκτώ σενάρια του έχουν χρηματοδοτηθεί από το πρόγραμμα Μικροφίλμ της ΕΡΤ και το Ελληνικό Κέντρο Κινηματογράφου. Έχει κερδίσει δυο φορές το βραβείο σεναρίου στο Φεστιβάλ Ταινιών Μικρού Μήκους Δράμας, “Γεννήτρια” 2013, “Βούτα” 2020, ενώ στο ίδιο φεστιβάλ έχει διακριθεί και με τα βραβεία καλύτερης ταινίας Νότιας και Ανατολικής Ευρώπης, βραβείο ντοκιμαντέρ και βραβείο ερμηνείας. (Φράγμα, Dye, Souls All Unaccompanied)
Το σενάριο της πρώτης του μεγάλου μήκους ταινίας του, με τον τίτλο “Woof”, επιλέχτηκε από το εργαστήριο Μεσογειακού Ινστιτούτου Κινηματογράφου (MFI), όπου ολοκλήρωσε τον κύκλο εργαστηρίων κερδίζοντας το Villa Cult Berlinale residency award και έλαβε χρηματοδότηση από το Ελληνικό Κέντρο Κινηματογράφου, στο στάδιο του development.
Διδάσκει συγγραφή σεναρίου στο Athens Film School και στο Ant1 Media Lab.
Από το 2023, είναι reader για το Ελληνικό Κέντρο Κινηματογράφου και από το 2021 συνεργάζεται με την Στέγη του δρύματος Ωνάση ως σεναριογράφος/σκηνοθέτης.
Toν τελευταίο χρόνο εργάζεται ως head writer και σκηνοθέτης, στην σειρά 60 επεισοδίων του ΑNT1, με τίτλο, O Πρώτος Από Εμάς.
Yorgos Teltzidis has studied Film and European Culture and he is co-founder of the film production company ‘Long Shot Films’. His last short film script ‘On Xerxes’ Throne’, directed by Evi Kalogeropoulou and produced by Stegi of Onassis Foundation, made its debut at La Semaine de La Critique of the Cannes Film Festival 2022, where it won the Canal+ award.
The films he has written and directed have been distinguished and viewed on a global basis. He has also been selected by the Talent Campuses of Berlinale Film Festival, Sarajevo Film Festival, Zurich Film Festival and he is an alumnus of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Artist Fellowship Program.
Six of his scripts have been funded by the program Microfilm of ERT and the Greek Film Centre. At the Short Film Festival of Drama, he has won the screenplay award twice with the films ‘Generator’ (2013) and ‘Vouta’ (2020) and he has also won the award for Best Film in South and East Europe, Documentary Award and Acting Award.
His first feature film has been selected by Mediterranean Film Institute (MFI) where, after completing the total number of workshops, won the Villa Cult Berlinale residency award. Following MFI it has been selected by the Meetings on the Bridge Networking Platform (Istanbul) and has been funded by the Greek Film Centre for the development phase.
He teaches screenwriting at Athens Film School, movie acting at the Higher School of Dramatic Art of Peiraikos Association and since 2021 he has been collaborating with Stegi of Onassis Foundation as a scriptwriter/director.
